Hi, my name is Stacey and welcome to Whispering Stories Book Blog.

I’m a married mum to three boys, well I suppose two boys and a grown up son, as my eldest is now 19. I live in Manchester (UK) and I am an avid reader.

I have been reading books since I was a small child and I often have two or more on the go at once. I tend to get through them quite quickly as I use public transport a lot and rely on my books to keep me occupied whilst travelling.

After reviewing books on Amazon, Goodreads and Waterstones for years, I thought it was time to put my reviews out there on my own blog.

After months of working alone, I found that my ‘To be Read’ pile was increasing, so now Whispering Stories has a team of reviewers.

Hi my name’s Candi, I’m 39 years old and my love and passion for reading books started at a very young age.

I can still remember how I learnt to read, and that was by my mum. Every time she picked a book up she would encourage us to pick one up, and it worked, those were special times, I will always remember. I’m the mummy now, and giving that gift to my babies is just as important!

I love reading a good book and escaping for a while into a world of fantasy, in my life I truly do need that! I promise you will get an open honest review, that hopefully will give you enough of an insight to either give the book a go or give it a miss……

Hi, my name is David and I’m 37 year’s old. I fell in love with books at the age of 7 one wet summer in Cambridge. I was staying at my very busy Uncle’s house when I stumbled upon a cupboard under the stairs. It was filled with books. Everything by Enid Blyton, Alexander Dumas, CS Lewis; I fell in love.

It’s a love that’s stayed with me while I home care and sell wine. It’s a love that my wife tolerates with gentle ribbing and the odd trip to the charity shop with an armful of old books. I hope Whispering Stories helps your love as well.

Hello, I’m Jodie; Partner, Mother, Writer, and Bookworm.

I’ve enjoyed reading for as long as I can remember. A childhood favourite was Roald Dahl’s collection of wonderful stories. He captured my attention every time and kept me enthralled throughout each journey that he sent me on.

I enjoy reading a wide range of genres and am oblivious to what’s going on around me once I’ve got my head stuck in a good book. I could happily spend all day in a bookshop, discovering new reading material.

I also have a passion for creative writing, having studied modules in this subject with the Open University for several years.

By combining my writing skills together with a love of reading, I will provide honest reviews to help you decide what (or what not) to read.

I look forward to adding new books to my collection.

 

Rebecca

Hello, I’m Rebecca De Saintonge, author and editor of numerous books, including my latest, a memoir, called "One Yellow Door" which was published by Darton Longman and Todd in October 2015.

I started life as a newspaper reporter, and then an investigative journalist for Granada Television and the BBC. As well as writing and reviewing books for Whispering Stories, I’m also the co-founder of Lifeline Press which designs and prints mostly hardback editions of memoir and family history for personal distribution. I also work as a mentor for new writers and run workshops, both in person and on line, on creative writing.

When my last husband died I took a humanities degree, and went on to begina Ph D in medieval studies, which is why I’m particularly interested in historical fiction.

I’m now married to a musician, Robin Hare, and play the saxophone (very badly), in a couple of bands. I’m living proof that life begins at 60. All reviews are subjective, but I’m committed to giving a true and honest appraisal of the books that I read.

Hi Everyone! My name is Cathie and I’m a life-long lover of books and all-things written. In fact, I love book so much that I vividly remember learning to read, and the thrill of being able to decipher those first words on a page. Anyone else remember that thrill?

I’m an Oklahoma native transplanted in Minnesota. Twenty-three years ago — on my wedding day, no less — my new husband informed me that he’d been offered a job with his dream computer company and "Could we please move to Minnesota? Just for three years — that’s all!" Well, three years turned into ten, and ten turned into twenty. Twenty-three years later, I’m still here, still married to my amazing computer geek husband, and our two children have Minne-soh-tah accents!

After reading and reviewing books for most of my life, I finally decided to put my journalism degree to good use and sat down to write my first novel. "The Edge of Nowhere" is a work of historical fiction and I am anxious anticipating its release on January 19, 2016.

Hi my name is Marcia, I am 50 and do not work at the moment.

I used to enjoy reading in childhood, however I stopped when eye strain became too much.

I came back to it through ill health a few years ago. It has been like coming home. I enjoy going into bookshops reading, browsing and just being surrounded by the books. Reading keeps my brain active.

I am open to reading most things except for horror. And am looking forward to reading and reviewing books on the blog.

‘ Hey there, my name is Nia. I’m 25 and a currently living in the historical city of Chester in the UK.

Like most bookworms, my love of books began at a very young age. I grew up in a very rural area where I’m pretty sure electricity had only just been discovered (broadband still hasn’t been installed, incidentally) so I could always be found in a barn with my head in a book.

Not much has changed these days apart from the barn, I can now be found anywhere with a cup of tea in one hand and a book in the other. My favourite genres are horror, paranormal and historical fiction and sci-fi.

I enjoy making use of my broadband connection by posting reviews to help my fellow readers pick out their next reads and to let authors know that their hard work is appreciated.
