Michelle Obama: Quotes to Live By is a life-affirming collection of over 170 quotes from one of the world’s most admired and respected public figures. As a student, she excelled; as a lawyer, she rose through the ranks; as a mother, she inspired and nurtured two girls; and as the First Lady of the United States, she used her platform to disseminate her strongly-held beliefs.

Intelligence, generosity, strength, bravery, confidence, and hard work are all key attributes associated with Michelle Obama, and this book serves to cement her place as one of the strongest voices on the global stage today. “When you are struggling and you start thinking about giving up, I want you to remember something … and that is the power of hope.

The belief that something better is always possible if you’re willing to work for it and fight for it.” Final speech as First Lady of the United States, January 2017.

Michelle Obama: Quotes to Live By is a small book at just over 14cms in height. If you are someone who likes to carry motivational quotes with you to get you through the day, then this book is the perfect size to fit in your bag.

The book as the title suggests is filled to the brim with quotes from the ex-First-Lady. It is split into six sections:-

Education
Equality
Family & Relationships
Politics
Self-Belief
Success

Each quote has written underneath it where Michelle said or wrote her words and in which year. There are some amazing quotes in the book, a few I’d heard Michelle say over the years but a lot I hadn’t heard of before.

When times get tough and fear sets in, think of those people who paved the way for you and those who are counting on you to pave the way for them‘ – University of California, Merced, commencement, May 2009.

This is a book you can dip in and out of. It is a book that you can randomly select a page and find a powerful quote. You don’t have to read the book cover to cover. You might not find that all the quotes are relevant to yourself – I found a few that weren’t relevant to me, but I still managed to appreciate them all.

If you love quotes and you admire Michelle Obama then this is an amazing book that would be a great investment for you. I say investment as I believe it is a book that will be kept for a long time to come and when you need a little pick-me-up or a bit of a motivational chat, then this book is handy to have available.
