Synopsis

Diane Watson is an award-winning, distinguished financial advisor, entrepreneur, and the passionate founder of ‘She Can Prosper.’

With an unshakable belief in empowering women to achieve financial independence, Diane has dedicated her career to guiding individuals towards a secure and prosperous future.

Like most people, Diane has faced significant obstacles in life. She wasn’t born into a wealthy family and had very little money when she left university. But through the financial lessons her mother had shared with her, she was driven to achieve as much as possible. Diane has taken big but educated risks, from house relocations to setting up her first business. Her view is that you can afford to take risks if you stay informed and remain continually aware of what’s going on around you.

Through her work as a financial advisor, she witnessed far too many women abdicating responsibility for their finances to their partners.

The realisation was that women who did not take control of their finances were being left vulnerable and potentially severely impacted later in life. Their lack of knowledge or input into shaping their financial future was the catalyst to write this book.

Following an easy-to-read step-by-step process, this book explores –

Review by Stacey

She Can Prosper is a non-fiction literary work focussing on attaining financial security as a woman. Authored by an experienced financial planner who has not only worked in this field for many years but was brought up in it, both her parents were financial advisors, so you can say she knows what she is talking about.

There are a lot of new books on finance out at the moment but this isn’t a book about how to save money by shopping at Aldi instead of Tesco or selling your old items to make some extra cash. This is a financial book that covers topics such as pensions, insurance, tax, wills, pre-nuptial agreements, financial abuse, income protection, debt, mortgages, and much more. It revolves around one main theme – Prosperity ‘The condition of being successful or thriving. especially :economic well-being.

The book is organised into seven sections:-

-What is Prosperity
-The Four Steps to Building Prosperity
-Protecting Your Prosperity
-Your Money and Your Relationships
-Business Finance
-Creating A Prosperous Mindset
-You Can Prosper.

Each section then has subsections. I love how the author explains what you should be looking out for financially at different stages in your life and has included real-life stories. I also found the incorporation of thought-provoking questions accompanied by space for personal reflections at the back of each section a great asset.

She Can Prosper is written in an easy-to-understand manner. It is engaging, accessible, and interesting, not something I ever thought I would write about a finance book. It includes many subjects and will leave you feeling more financially confident and with the tools and hopefully, the mindset to do something about your finances.

As the reader progresses through various life phases they will want to keep this book on hand and read it over and over again as they age and their financial life changes.
