Monthly Review – September 2016

Monthly Review – September 2016

Welcome to the last day of September. Summer is officially over, I’ve just had turned on the little radiator in my office as I was freezing. Yesterday in Manchester it was just a tad windy, properly howling wind, and all the leaves were falling, as long as the rain stays away I’ll be happy.

The best thing about coming into Autumn is that I find there is more time for reading. The cold dark nights just make you want to snuggle up with a good book and a mug of hot chocolate, bliss.

This month has been another exceptionally busy month not only for myself personally, (Child with broken bones after having a fight with a moped!!, numerous hospital visits, and a charity ball to attend), but the blog has been really busy too.
We have added a couple of brand new categories to the blog, our blogger interviews ‘Bloggers’ Bench’ and Three Free Books Friday. There is also going to be another new category coming next month – I’m still working out what to call it, but I am going to be highlighting some bookish shops that I love, and I hope you will love them too.

On to what we have been covering on the blog this month. We had another successful month as we brought to you a staggering 68 posts. The most we have ever done in a month. Within that 68 posts we have done 33 book reviews, including 12 reviews as part of our ‘Children’s Books Tuesday’. 3 cover reveals, 5 author interviews, 4 blogger interviews, 3 guest posts and 11 giveaways, plus a host of book blasts, blog tours etc.

On this months ‘The Writing Life of:’ I had the pleasure of talking to the below authors, finding out all about their writing careers and their latest books.

On our new ‘Bloggers’ Bench’ I interviewed the blogger’s below, and questioned them on their blogging life.

On to our social media accounts. Our Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and Google+ pages are all increasing in numbers nicely. Not only am I grateful for all you wonderful people that follow us, but I also love reading your posts too. So a very Big Thank You to all our followers, you are all appreciated.

A sneak peak into October – I will be interviewing authors Jake. D Parent, Matt Dune, Barbara Underwood and C.F Dunn. Plus I have already got booked in guest posts, reviews, blog tours, cover reveals, blogger interviews, plus much more more – including a few nice giveaways for you to get your hands on.

Above I mentioned a charity ball that I attended. I just want to make a quick mention about the charity, as it is one close to my heart (I’m not asking you to donate, just letting you know about it as it’s quite small).

The charity is called ‘Childflight‘ based in North-West England and run by volunteers. They take long-term sick and disabled children, plus their family, on a holiday of a lifetime to Florida to visit the theme parks.

We went as a family back in 2013, (my youngest has a rare incurable life threatening illness), we had the most amazing time and I like to give back to the charity that gave my family such a happy and memorable time.

Well ‘That’s all folks’. Hope you have a very healthy and happy October. I hope you enjoy next months posts on the blog, and if there is anything else you would like to see us cover, please let me know. I love hearing your ideas.
