Goodbye 2018 – Welcome 2019
Goodbye 2018 – Welcome 2019
Life has been hectic this last month as my hubby took ill with a mystery illness which has seen him have to take time off work since 2nd December, plus numerous tests, retests, medication etc. That together with visiting family over Christmas has meant that I haven’t had time to write up a full end of year post – So I apologise. I also apologise for no giveaway on this post like I do most years. One will be coming in January 2019 instead when I write up my ‘Best Reads of 2018’.
So on to the year – Well, 2018 seemed to have past at warp speed. It wasn’t a bad year, nor a great year, just a normal average year. My family and I went on holiday twice, UK and Lanzarote and I attended a few book events and met lots of authors and bloggers.
On the blog, we reviewed 369 books, down on last years total of 424, but still a hell of a lot of books. We also did 52 author interviews, 47 guest posts and 28 cover reveals amongst many, many more posts.
I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has followed us, read our posts, retweeted our Tweets and liked our Instagram and Facebook page posts this year. Without you, there wouldn’t be much point for us to write our reviews. So THANK YOU every single one of you. We appreciate you all.
I would also like to give a shout out to the fabulous team of reviewers who all work on the blog. Without their help, this blog wouldn’t thrive as it does. They each work so hard and all give wonderful, honest reviews for the books that I send them.
Coming 2019 – The weekly author interviews have had a make-over with new questions and artwork. First will be coming up on Thursday 3rd January so keep a look out for it and let me know what you think of the new set up. I’m also planning some new interviews too (separate to my weekly ones) – I’ve got the title I just need the questions finalising before I can let you all know what will be happening with them and who I’m going to be interviewing.
You may have seen we have an account with ‘Buy me a Coffee‘. This year all the money we receive through it will be going to a charity close to my heart – ‘Childflight‘. They are a wonderful charity that takes children with life-threatening/serious illnesses or disabilities and their families on holiday to Florida, where they pay for the flights, transport, accommodation, spending money, food, theme parks – Everything is taken care of and the team that runs it are all volunteers. 99p in every £1 donated goes towards the holidays and Santa flights that they provide. We went to Florida with them in 2013 and had the best time ever.
That’s all I have to say for now, but do look out for my best reads of 2018 post coming in January 2019 which will include a giveaway too. Happy New Year everyone.
