Synopsis

Elves are Santa’s special helpers – they make Christmas magical for every girl and boy. But have you ever wondered what they are made of? This festive board book explores the possibilities and reveals the answers with a fantastic pop-up elf at the end!

Review by Stacey

What Are Santa’s Elves Made Of? is a rhyming young children’s board book all about elves. Each page is a joy to read and filled with elves and fun ‘facts’ about them.

There are full-page illustrations throughout which are bright and colourful. The front page has different textures for children to feel which I thought would continue through the book, but unfortunately, it doesn’t. There is, however, a pop-up elf at the end.

Being a board book means that the pages are thicker and so you can feel safe letting very young children handle it. It is also quite small in size, so they will be easily able to hold it.

Overall, this is a lovely, festive, and fun Christmas story which I am sure children will enjoy reading.

Synopsis

Say HELLO to Nibbles, he’s ready for some fun Jolly, holly jingles – the Christmas countdown has begun!

Review by Stacey

Nibbles Christmas is a fun, rhyming story featuring Nibbles the book monster who likes to eat everything. I’d never heard of Nibbles before but there are a few stories available to purchase about him.

In this book, children get to count from ten to one and watch as Nibbles makes a mess such as eating toy robots or crashing into rockets.

Each page is highly illustrated with full-page pictures which contain Nibbles eating or breaking something, a hole in the page, and the number that the page count is on in both number format and the written word.

This is a story I can see children giggle along with. I enjoyed it and found Nibbles completely amusing. An amazing festive story that is small in size and with it being a board book you can be safe in the knowledge that your little ones won’t easily be able to destroy it, unlike Nibbles!

Review by Stacey

Five Christmas Friends is a children’s board book written in a rhyming style and contains five pages that count from one to five and features Santa and his friends.

Each page contains the number in both number format and the written word. It has short text and either a slider to slide, or a flap to lift, one page even has a spinner.

The story was good fun and the pages contained full-page illustrations that are very festive and jolly. There is also a mouse on each page for children to find.

With the book being interactive and all Christmassy, this is something I can see young children enjoying. Especially with it only being a few pages long. It may also help very young children learn to count up to five.
